Three Gelders stallions selected for the performance test
THREE GELDERS STALLIONS SELECTED FOR THE PERFORMANCE TEST.
Three stallions entered the ring for the second viewing today for the Gelders breeding direction. They were sired by Elton, Imposant and Recruut. All three stallions were selected for the performance test. No premiums were awarded in this breeding direction.
Powerhouse
The first stallion to enter the track was the Elton son Newman. This powerhouse comes from the Hekkert family from Wijhe and is registered with J.H.F.M. Gray wood from Muiderberg and S. Ruiters from Berlicum. Dam Beaujamanda is a ster mare by Upperville. We already know her as the mother of the Gelders stallion Henkie (by Alexandro P) and the approved stallion Jupiler S also comes from this dam line. Marloes van der Velden commented on the stallion on behalf of the stallion inspection committee: “A stallion that could have been slightly longer in line, but has a lot of power and suppleness. He comes from a mare line packed with predicates and has a low kinship. ”
First crop
The Imposant EM son Nicolaas EM was bred by Mariska Toet from Darp out of the Elite mare Gerona by Alexandro P, who has earned the sport predicate in driving. She comes from the well-known mare line of the former Breeder of the Year Jan Vonk. Van der Velden: “Nicolaas EM comes from the first crop of Imposant. He stands out with his rich forequarters and has a lot of length in the back. The croup could be a bit longer, but he shows good use of the hind leg and he showed a neat jump. ”
White head
Perhaps the most striking stallion, both to look at and on paper, is the third designated stallion, the seven-year-old James.R, who’s sports name is ‘White Head’. This chestnut, blessed with a lot of chrome, is a son of the stallion Recruut (Marco Polo x Apollo), who was born in 1975 and deceased in 2005. James R was bred by C.H. Rasenberg from Raamsdonkveer and is registered with Ido Jacobs in Vragender. His dam E. Karin R is a ster daughter of Elegant and is a granddaughter of the famous Karin, daughter of Apollo, who has an endless list of sport horses to her name. Van der Velden: “James R is already qualified at 1.30m level and was judged by us in two courses. He has a functional trot and a good canter. He shows a lot of commitment in jumping and has a lot of technique. He is also very low related to the population.”
