World Championships for Young Dressage Horses moves to Ermelo for 2016-2018
The FEI announced today that following a joint bid by the KNHS and KWPN, the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses will be held at the National Equestrian Centre in Ermelo for the period of 2016 through 2018.
Following the example of the World Championships for Young Jumpers in Lanaken, the first World Championship for Young Dressage Horses was organized in 1997 in Verden, Germany. Since then the event has become very popular. Into two age groups – five and six year olds – some of the best dressage promises compete by country for the highest honor. In an individual dressage test horses are judged on overall impression as a dressage horse. Following a long tradition in Verden, the WC will take place in Ermelo for the first time August 11 to 14, 2016. The event will be organized by the KWPN in cooperation with the KNHS. Both the KWPN and the KNHS are pleased that the constructive cooperation between the two organizations has already led to this recognition by the FEI. During the three aforementioned years the WC will be take place in early August at the National Equestrian Centre in Ermelo.
