KWPN recognizes Comthago VDL and Impian D

The KWPN recognizes the stallions Comthago VDL and Impian D. Comthago VDL

Ten-year-old Comthago VDL (Comme Il Faut x Carthago) is successful in the sport with Hessel Hoekstra. The duo was second at the National Championships in Deurne this year and fifth in the Grand Prix of Jumping Peel en Maas. The stallion has been active in breeding for a number of years. His first crops produced fourteen elite mares, one keur and nine star mares. His eldest offspring now compete at 1.30m level.

Comthago VDL, bred in Germany by W. Kochs is a son of the KWPN-recognized Comme Il Faut, who was successful at the highest level with Marcus Ehning. Comme Il Faut in turn descends from the also KWPN-recognized Cornet Obolensky and the Olympic mare Ratina Z (by Ramiro). Comthago VDL’s mother is the Carthago daughter Natasia V, she was active at 1.30m level. Grandmother Joyce I (by Caretino) competed at 1.50m.

Comthago VDL meets the PROK requirements and the conformation assessment didn’t yield any remarks. Comthago VDL has a genome breeding value of 97 (49% reliability), and he is not a carrier of the WFFS gene.

Paired with Carosso VDL, she produced a 1.30m and a 1.40m horse and Impian D’s full brother Joss D jumps at 1.40m. Grandmother Kassian, a ster mare of the preferent World Cup winner Libero H, jumped at 1.40m herself.
