Report From the Road – Sonnenberg Farm (OR)

Our final stop for this judging team, the beautiful Sonnenberg Farm.  We were able to see some very special horses today in the Pacific Northwest.  Thank you to our hosts, Dan and Gina Ruediger for your hospitality.

First & Second Premium awards are given to horses that exceed and/ or meet the KWPNs high breed standards, and we are grateful to the owners and breeders for showing them to us. Not all first premium or ster horses are mentioned in ‘The Report from the Road ‘, only those horses that really stand out to the jury.

Dressage for Studbook/Ster 4-7 YO :

Levanta S D-OC – (Charmeur x Evanta III MMW keur by UB 40 keur )
Owner/Breeder: Dan & Gina Ruediger, Sonnenberg Farm
Levanta S is very well proportioned and a  good dressage type.  She is long lined and modern with correct legs.  She shows an  excellent walk; it is very supple with good reach and active. The trot has active and quick use of the hindleg with ability for collection.  Her canter is engaged from the hindleg and carrying with good posture and uphill tendency.  This new elite mare also earns her  IBOP predicate with an excellent score of  85,  and currently is the High Scoring 5/6 YO in the DG Bar cup.  Congratulations for this top scoring mare!

Nadia D’Rosa S D-OC – (Franklin x Generosa keur IBOP (dr) sport (dr) by Uphill)

This mare is well muscled and has sufficient length in her body with high withers and a good front end.  Her walk could be longer strided, but she shows good mechanics in trot with sufficient uphill tendency and a  powerful well carried canter. Ster, keur eligible

Gelders Horses for Studbook/Ster 8 and Older:

Freedom – (Zion-JC aang x Brilliante by Flemmingh pref)
Owner/ Breeder: Kanoe Durdan Godby
A long lined, good gelders type.  Freedom is heavily muscled with a flat croup and heavy boned.  The  walk could be longer strided, but she shows a very powerful trot with good knee action and reach, and a powerful canter with good length of stride.   She is our High score Gelders horse today and earns the ster and keur eligible predicates.

This colt is sufficiently developed, he has sufficient length, good body and correct legs.  He is   very light footed and demonstrates very powerful use of the hindleg, good reach with the front leg. This is a very athletic and  supple foal, with uphill tendency and a carrying hindleg. 1st Premium and Champion of today’s Dressage foals, Congrats!

A long lined filly with a good front end and a long vertical neck.  She has supple movement, showed sufficient power and has good reach in her front leg in both trot and canter. 1st Premium, Reserve Champion.

This filly is well muscled. Her neck could be longer but it is well shaped with a good topline and refined in her legs.  Her walk is long strided, the trot and canter are light footed. She has  active use of the hindleg and is supple with good body use and adjustability.

Sen Rosa S – (Le Formidable x Generosa S keur IBOP (dr) sport (dr) by Uphill)

An elegant filly with a good front end, she is a modern dressage type. She has a good body, a lot of articulation of the joints, good suspension, however she could be somewhat more uphill and lifting in the withers. First Premium

A well muscled and well proportioned colt that is a correct jumper type. He has an active canter with sufficient use of the body, good balance and easy changes.  First Premium and High Score Jumper, congrats!

IBOP – Dressage:

Juliette D’Rosa S Ster Keur Elig D-OC – (Ampere x Zen Rosa elite pref by Farrington keur)

This is a very talented mare! She has an unbelievable trot- it is very uphill, engaged and athletic, with a very expressive front leg and a powerful, active canter.  She is  long strided with good posture and is easy to collect.  She is very good in the extended trot and canter with lots of ability for collection.  She has performed in sport to the Prix St Georges level, and today she becomes an elite mare with her excellent IBOP score, and is also today’s High Score for the DG Bar Cup for 7/8 YOs. Congratulations!

Miss Toto S shows good mechanics in her movement with sufficient suppleness. She appears to have a  good brain and rideability.
