2022 & 2023 US Eventing stallion of the year!
The licensed KWPN-NA stallion Geluk HVF is a fourth-generation Dutch Warmblood homebred. His dam was Bethany’s former Intermediate mare Bronte HVF, a good jumping, even-tempered mare by Contango, and Bethany wanted to add some dressage blood. So, she bred her to Jazz, who brought some hotness. She knew Geluk HVF was special from the moment he was born. “He’s a super mover, super jumper, super brain, but certainly hot enough for eventing. He was kind of the wonder child,” Bethany says. As his bloodlines predict, the sporty stallion Geluk is a real allrounder in his talents! He actually was the Champion Young Dressage Horse at his KWPN Keuring, finishing in the Top 5 for Dressage foals in North America for the KWPN. Ever since he was a young horse, Geluk has been standing out in all of his competitive outings!
In just his first few years of competing Geluk has had numerous top place finishes at National and Internationally recognized events up and down the Eastern seaboard. Including winning the CCI* Hagyard USEF National Championships at only 6 years old, and finishing 5th in the Nation for Event Stallions in 2017- one of the youngest stallions to make the top 10 leaderboard.
From 2017-2018 Geluk ran 10 prelim/CIC/CCI cross-country courses consecutively with zero jump penalties. He is consistently in the top 5 placings after dressage, often number 1, and is quick, careful and scopey in show jumping producing many clear rounds. Geluk HVF finished his 2020 show season having competed thru the 3* Level in 3rd Level Dressage and in the 1.15m Jumpers. In 2022 Geluk HVF was named USEA Eventing Stallion of the Year! 1st Ocala Winter I HT Open Prelim, 2nd Rocking Horse Winter HT Open Prelim, 2nd Rocking Horse Spring HT Open Intermediate, 1st Stableview Oktoberfest HT Open Prelim. “He had a few inconsistent years after that while I was in and out of the sport to start a family. But he came back strong to finish as the U.S. Eventing Stalllion of the Year for 2022 and 2023. And finished 14th in the CCI3S at Terra Nova in 2024.”, Bethany shares.
His super temperament, matched with his exceptional movement, talent for jumping, and consistent performances in all 3 phases have made him a force to be reckoned with in the Eventing world.
Geluk is both a promising young event horse and stallion for the future of Equestrian sport. With his tremendous amount of talent and a fabulous work ethic the sky is the limit! Additionally, Geluk has a wonderful personality and is a pleasure to be around on the ground. He is very affectionate and loves nothing more than to brushed, and eating is a close second!
