Caravella and Meghan Lane place ninth

AACHEN, Germany, July 16, 2014–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl rode Unee BB to victory in the World Equestrian Festival CDI4* Grand Prix Wednesday night.

The victory on a score of 73.220 percent by Germany’s Jessica and Unee BB, a 13-year-old KWPN stallion (Gribaldi x Dageraad), was their third in almost 18 months at Grand Prix. The pair won the Grand Prix and the Freestyle at the World Cup qualifier in Gothenburg, Sweden in March.

Megan Lane, the 23-year-old Canadian, rode her Caravella (Contango x P. Riviera ster by Riverman) to 70.460 percent and ninth place, the best finish of the four North Americans in the Grand Prix.
Megan competed Caravella in the North American Young Rider Championships in 2010 and began their Grand Prix career two years ago.

The partnership between Megan and the 13-year-old KWPN mare (bred by Jill Irving of Windhaven, Moncton, NB, Canada) clicked during this year’s Florida winter circuit and the pair qualified for the Canadian team to go to the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France next month.
