Regional KWPN-NA meeting at Shooting Star Farm in New Hampshire

Long time member and platinum level breeder Scot Tolman is organizing a Regional KWPN-NA Meeting at his farm in New Hampshire from the 4th – 6th of April.
The educational theme for this meeting is:

“Balance and Self-Carriage”
The Cornerstone of Successful Dressage Breeding and Training
Speakers and clinicians include Marian Dorresteijn, Wim Cazemier, Tracy McReynolds, and Scot. Riders and drivers for the event are Erin Duffy, Jocelyn Kraenzle, Emily Emond, Melissa Hardy, and Bill Duffy. The KWPN-NA will be represented by Director of Operations Kelley Stachon, and Vice Chair of the KWPN-NA Board / fellow KWPN-NA breeder Tracy Geller.

THE PROGRAM:
Friday evening, April 4th – the meeting starts at Scot & Carol’s house at 6pm with a welcome dinner and social time, including a presentation of the SSF program and the goals for the weekend. One of which is to teach breeding selection using the knowledge gained throughout the weekend to make an actual breeding decision for one of their top mares Paeonia SSF. The group will make the final decision, and Scot will buy the breeding and follow through. “Provided the equine gods will cooperate, we will follow the resulting foal through its keuring participation and into its training,” says Scot.
Saturday, April 5th – the program starts at 9am. The following items are on the agenda:
recognizing the components of balance and self-carriage in free movement
the magic of Tracy McReynolds and his round pen work with “hot button issues” and developing the horse’s ability to think and carry itself
dressage clinic with Marian Dorresteijn on developing balance and self-carriage through the levels
presentation of ALL the SSF stallions in North America
the famous Harness stallion Macho making his under-saddle debut
a presentation by and discussion with Wim Cazemier about the future of the Dutch Harness horse in North America
a live interview with Marian Dorresteijn, led my Scot, discussing breeding selection, the inner workings of the KWPN stallion selection, current breeding trends, and specific stallions and their impact on Dutch breeding.
an introduction to the new SSF team and the plans for the future
a goodbye celebration for Wim and Marjan Cazemier and Farmer Morelli.

Sunday, April 6th – there will be breakfast at 9am, where everyone can continue conversations with the experts, and say their goodbyes.
✅ This meeting is open to everyone, not just KWPN-NA members. The purpose of establishing a system of regional meetings is to reach out to members and non-members alike. It’s an opportunity to give more people access to some of the world’s most knowledgeable horsemen and women, in a welcoming and congenial atmosphere of sharing knowledge and growing as an organization. So, please, if you have any interest in Dutch horses or horses in general, at any level of experience or exposure, come! “We welcome you, we will share good food, good friends, and good horses. It’s going to a great weekend, one not to be missed,” says Scot.

There is no entrance fee for this event. We do welcome sponsors to contribute to the costs for the speakers, riders, food/ drinks etc. You can advertise your business during the meeting in return with banners/ flyers and social media exposure.
