Gert van der Veen Award

Dalanta MG    The Johnson daughter Dalanta DG out of the elite mare Valanta (s. Goodtimes) is owned by Abby Onsgard and bred by Fam. Luimstra. This uphill and long-legged mare showed great posture and balance, especiall in the canter. She used her nick very well and her uphill balance incorporated good length of stride and technique.With an 80 for conformation and an 80 for movement, Dalanta earned her ster and became eligible for keur. That combined with a score of 80.5 for the IBOP earned her the keur predicate

This award was established in memory of Gert van der Veen. He was the tie between the NA/WPN and the KWPN for 15 years. Gert van der Veen was the head of the NA/WPN keuring jury for 13 years and an ex-officio member of the NA/WPN Board of Directors. He supported and believed in the NA/WPN through the tough early years. He was generous with his time and knowledge. He was a good friend and a much admired colleague.
