Report from the Road – Rocky Ridge Stables (PA)
Host: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables
Jury: Viggon van Beest & Lammert Tel
In total seven fillies (five Foalbook (vb), one Register A and one Register B) competed for the Foal Championship. The overall quality was average to below average. Three of the foals were rewarded with a First premium and two of them were selected for the finals.
Filly Onda (Waldemar x Alonda Ster Preferent by Talos, Owner: Raymond Stoltzfus, Treasure Hill Stables) became champion. She is well developed, refined and has a nice harness type with front, a nice croup and lean leg quality. In movement she showed nice with front and good technique, suppleness and suspension but she could produce some more power in her hindquarters.
Second place went to the filly Oelline A.K.S. (Waldemar x Elline A Keur by Makari Jetsetter, Owner: Abner Stoltzfus of Beacon Hollow Stables). She is average developed, has a nice harness type with strong connections and very lean legs. Compared to her co-finalist she was almost equal but in trot she showed just a little less front.
One two-year-old mare was presented and received a first premium and invitation for the overall championship. Myadientje (Globetrotter x Bernadientje Ster by Saffraan, Owner: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables) could be more developed but has a strong topline with nice withers and lean legs. In trot she showed quite fancy with a good front and sufficient foreleg action.
The two-year-old stallion Mikerty (Globetrotter x Edaperty Keur by Unieko, Owner: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables) was presented and was rewarded with a first premium.
He has a sufficient harness type and good topline but could be some more developed as well. In movement he performs sufficient front and good foreleg action with good suspension but his sickle hindleg could be more active and stronger.
Three mares were presented in this class and two mares became Ster. Lynette (Globetrotter x Annette Ster by Moneymaker, Owner: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables) scored the highest points. This refined, very strong connected mare fits the harness type very well. In trot she showed really well with good scores on almost all elements so her invitation for the overall championship wasn’t a surprise !
Both participants in this division earned a first premium and one became Ster. Highest scoring mare was Karydientje (Globetrotter x Bernadientje Ster by Saffraan, Owner: Rocky Ridge Stables). She showed herself like a real harness horse with a lot of action, front, posture, balance and suspension but due to her height , she only became studbook. The strong connected mare Kathaline (Vaandrager HBC x Gumaldine OMHG Ster by Atleet, Owner: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables) presented herself nicely and she became Ster.
Also invited for the overall championship became the strong connected, technical and powerful, well performing Karianne (Globetrotter x Erianne Elite by Vaandrager HBC, Owner: Ben Fisher, Misty Meadow Stables).
Five mares did the IBOP which has to be driven twice , with two of them passing.
Kiralonda and Karianne, as mentioned before in the ‘Ster and Keur mares in hand’ class, passed their IBOP’s with good scores in both, and became Keur.
New this year was the opportunity to gain points for the Sport predicate through a passed IBOP and both mares were rewarded for that.
Myadientje, Lynette, Kathaline, Kiralonda and Karianne participated in this class with good quality. Ultimately it was the three-year-old mare Lynette (Globetrotter x Annette Ster by Moneymaker, Owner: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables) who was crowned as the overall champion. At the end of the day she presented herself very good and fancy again, just like she did in the morning.
Two Fine Harness Cups for mares and two Fine Harness Cups for stallions and geldings were driven and all participants were very enthusiastic and eager to win. Additionally, Sport predicate points could be won for qualified horses so there was even more competition.
On Friday, the mare Lamone (Globetrotter x Zesty Rose Stb by Larix, Owner: Aaron Jay Fisher) won her class and gelding Kolton (Globetrotter x Dilvia Stb by Unieko, Owner: Ivan Fisher, Rocky Ridge Stables) won his class.
Two licensed stallions and one gelding were competing with each other and the winner became Intign (Waterman x Cuderose Keur by Patijn, Owner: Amos R.S. Schwartz, Country View Stables). He showed with a nice front a good foreleg action.
Nice points for the Sport predicate were given to the qualified horses in the Natural Way Minerals Fine Harness Cups.
Besides the Fine Harness Cups there also was a Young Drivers Class with four very enthusiastic participants. This very nice class was won by the three-year-old, and later that day as overall champion crowned, Lynette.First Premiums: Coming Soon
