Keur stallion Atleet retired from sport
The Keur stallion Atleet officially retired from sport. He was presented by his proud owner William Duffy in a special ceremony for this occasion at the Open House of Scot Tolman’s Shooting Star Farm in NH.
Atleet was bred by R. Aalders in the Netherlands. Before being imported to the USA in 2021, the 18-year-old Harness stallion by Patijn x Waterman was owned and trained by Wim Cazemier & Hengstenhouderij Gebr. van Manen.
Atleet has an impressive trackrecord:
2010 Winner stallion competition
2011 Winner Oregon Trophy
2016 Champion Honorary class North
2017 Champion Honorary class South
2017 Harness horse of the year
2020 Declared Keur
On top of that, he sired four approved stallions: Eebert, Jaleet, Kapitaal and Martin Morero.
Atleet received the prestigious Keur predicate in 2020 based on his offspring performing so well both at inspections as in competitions. His offspring always have the refinement of their sire, a good harness type and they can move very well. Many of Atleet’s daughters have predicates: he sired 58 ster mares, 20 keur mares, 1 preferent mare, 7 elite mares, 17 Ibop mares and 5 sports mares.
Atleet is still very sound and sharp at his age, always happy to perform and showing off his quality. He will remain available for breeding with top quality fresh semen through Bill & Erin Duffy of Grand Finale Farm.
