Alcazar 2nd in PSG at Hartpury
Katherine Bateson-Chandler rode Alcazar in the horse’s first CDI to place second in the Hartpury Festival of Dressage CDI3* Prix St. Georges on Friday with Great Britain’s Michael Eilberg on Woodlander Dornroschen the winner with 74.316%.
The British born Katherine is based in Wellington but trains with British Olympian Carl Hester at his facility. The pair scored 72.158%.
Alcazar (b. Alonzo, Contango pref x Polina keur prest by Ferro pref, breeder St. van Winden) was bought by Jane Forbes Clark in mid-2012 after the retirement of Nartan, Katherine’s mount for the 2010 World Equestrian Games in. She competed the eight-year-old KWPN gelding in a handful of national events on the Florida circuit last winter before returning to Engand to train Alcazar.
