Odin is a beautiful, sturdy, all-round  Palomino KWPN Gelders bred stallion. He has a wonderful character and is very willing to work. Odin is always cheerful, easy to handle, and level-headed. He is people-oriented and loves attention – just like his sire, Edmundo.

Pedigree:

Odin is a son of the Gelderland approved stallion Edmundo and the Elite Preferent Performance Ibop Sport (dressage) PROK mare Buoterranel van Vitens. Both dressage and show jumping horses come from this dam line. The great-grandmother, in particular, has produced good show jumping horses. Grandfather Vitens competed at ZZL level, just like his sire Edmundo. We see offspring of Edmundo in all disciplines, including eventing. We expect that with this pedigree, Odin will prove to be a true all-round sire.

KWPN Performance:

Odin was approved by the KWPN in May 2022 with very good scores for his performance under saddle. He earned a 9.5 for his temperament and achieved an 8.5 for all dressage components.

The Stallion Committee said:

“He is a generously developed stallion with a spacious and active way of moving and suppleness. He showed a beautiful performance and he does everything with a very good temperament and a great work ethic. Odin also remains well focused on the rider in the outdoor arena. His foreleg usage, in particular, is very striking and expressive.”

Odin was fully approved KWPN in 2023 following his harness performance. In March 2026, he was also inspected by the committee of the German Oldenburg Studbook and they recognized him! The paperwork is now being finalized.

Offspring:

Odin received a beautiful offspring report from the KWPN in 2024. A striking number of offspring show extra suppleness, size, very good shoulder freedom, and excellent foreleg use. Certainly compared to their dams. We observe that Odin’s offspring are people-oriented, and we see an exceptional amount of color in Odin’s offspring. We had a DNA test performed to determine exactly which color genetics he carries: this turned out to be AAee N/Cr, which means he is dominant for agouti. This explains why an exceptionally large number of dun offspring are born from Odin.

Sports Achievements:

Odin was competed in dressage by Dirk-Jan van de Water at 3rd level. He started him in the Subli Cup, at the Gelders Paard Sportdag, and in the KWPN Stallion Competition, where they became Champion two years in a row. They also became Regional Champion at 3rd level. Currently, Marcel’s own team rides Odin.
