This tall, leggy, chestnut stallion combines some of the worlds best bloodlines with a performance record at the highest level. As a young producer, Messenger VF has already produced numerous first premium and aged performance class winners.

In 2022 Messenger VF posted a clear round and Top 8 placing in the 1.60m at the Dublin Horse Show, in addition to being part of the 4th place team in the Nations Cup of Vejer de la Frontera (ESP). Messenger VF was recognized as top Keuring sire with KWPN NA in 2019 and was the KWPN NA FEI horse of the year in 2022.

From a young age, sire, Monte Bellini was a NRW-premium stallion, and double national champion indicating his ‘raw talent’ and aptitude for sport in terms of his conformation and natural jumping instincts. Subsequently he was developed by the esteemed Ludger Beerbaum stables and later went on to win many grand prixs; ultimately reaching the highest level and qualifying for the Olympics in 2012.

Dam, NEC PLUS Ultra M-G C Leuze herself is a performance mare who jumped successfully in FEI divisions up to 1.50m level and comes from a top mare line responsible for producing 1.60m jumper Deauville, also by Darco. NEC PLUS Ultra M-G C Leuze has had a stellar production career in Canada also producing Delta VF- a competitive horse in the 1.50m divisions in addition to Major VF a top show hunter who was 2nd in 2023 young hunters in the US  and a multitude of other young horses entering the aged classes in the coming years.

Breeding Advice

From a conformational standpoint, Messenger VF can bring a strong frame, height, and musculature to his matings. His progeny in existence today demonstrate a powerful canter with good length of stride. In terms of jumping, his offspring have good bascule, exhibit limitless cope and demonstrate excellent technique. Messenger VF is most successfully used on refined mares with quick reflexes and an ideal foreleg – he passes on incredible minds to all of his offspring.

  • 2019: 5th nationally for Jumping IBOP and 3rd nationally for GES Cup 5-8 yr olds with KWPN-NA. 6th and 7th place Thunder Bird Odlum Brown CSIO5* 6 yr old, 4th and 6th place Thunder Bird Canadian Premier 6 yr old, 2nd place Amberlea Jump for Hope 1.20m, 1st place Thermal Desert Circut IV YJC 6 yr olds 1.25m, Top 10 placings at all other Thermal Desert Circuit shows.

From the judge at his KWPN-NA licensing: “This well-muscled stallion has a long-strided canter with good rhythm and sufficient body use.  Messenger improves in his body use on the higher oxers and has good leg technique on the jumps.”
  • Test Report: Messenger VF is a well-developed, long-lined stallion, with a downhill body direction. He has well muscled topline, with well-developed withers. His front leg is somewhat back at knee and toed out, and his hindleg is long with heavy substance of legs. Messenger has a powerful, long-strided canter. In jumping he could be quicker in the reflexes, is brave and seems to be scopey. Messenger improves in his body use over the higher oxers and has good leg technique over the jumps. Sometimes he is a bit strong in the connection to the bridle.

The judge said about Navigator VF “This long-lined jumper colt has a good topline and a long croup. His trot is supple and light-footed but especially his canter is athletic, adjustable and shows good length of stride. It is very easy for Navigator VF to keep his balance and change direction. The long-lined and well-muscled colt”. Navigator VF named 3rd nationally for jumper foals for KWPN-NA.
