Bubalu VDL Erkend for KWPN Breeding
Baloubet du Rouet son a proven sport horse.
The 12-year-old prok jumper VDL Bubalu (s. Baloubet du Rouet x Zancara keur pref prest by Nimmerdor pref, bred by VDL Stud) has numerous international achievements to his credit. As a result, the Stallion Selection Committee has decided to recognize VDL Bubalu for KWPN breeding.
Bubalu VDL’s sire Baloubet du Rouet won the individual gold medal in the Athens Olympics and swept the World Cup Final three times. His offspring also compete at the highest level. Bubalu VDL’s dam is the Nimmerdor daughter Zancara, a keur preferent prestatie mare. In addition to Bubalu VDL, she produced the KWPN stallions Great Pleasure (s.Grannus) and Montreal (s.Indoctro), as well as the Grand Prix jumper Pessoa VDL (s. Animo). Granddam is the keur preferent prestatie mare Shoraya (s.Ladykiller xx). She is also dam to N-Aldato (s.Nimmerdor), who was a Grand Prix show jumper under Emile Hendrix. Other decendents of the immediate dam-line include the KWPN stallions Highline and Azteca VDL.
Bubalu VDL was trained by Colombia’s Ricardo Villa. The pair’s achievements include winning the national championship of Columbia, finishing fourth in the GP of Kentucky, and placing fifth in the GP of Saugerties. However, the stallion has achieved even greater success under Jur Vrieling. Competing on the Dutch show jumping team, the combination captured Nations Cup competitions in Dublin, Sankt Gallen, and Aachen; and recently, they won the Grand Prix in Drammen. In addition, Bubalu VDL showed in Kentucky at the World Equestrian Games.
Bubalu VDL meets KWPN radiographic and respiratory requirements. His jumping index is 159 with 43% reliability.
