Seven jumping stallions participated in the final presentation and six of them very much deserved their approval. Five dressage stallions were presented, four of which were accepted into the studbook and two of whom scored over 80 points. Two Harness stallions were evaluated at the spring test and both were approved.

Six Jumper Stallions Approved

The highest scores were for the champion of the stallion show: Durrant (Warrant Tanagra stb by Voltaire). He passed with 83.5 points, receiving no jumping scores less than eight. For canter, technique, ability and aptitude as a jumper he even got an 8.5, and the walk, trot, posture and balance also had good scores.

Dynamo received two points less (Andiamo x Winningmood of Arenberg) but was convincing in all jumping components and received an 8.5 for technique, scope and talent as a jumper.

The Cardento son Dakar VDL (ds. Nimmerdor), half brother of the KWPN approved Boss (s. Indoctro), passed with 79 points and received the highest score for scope, an 8.5, and otherwise many eights.

Dutch Design, a son of Dollar de la Pierre, received 82.5 points and was approved. His lowest score stroke was for his trot that showed little tact. In the canter, the son of index-topper Harmonie (v. Calvados) was convincing and the chestnut stallion received a 9 for scope.

VDL Dakota, a son of Casall out of a full sister to Cicero van de Helle (s. Contender) that is approved by the BWP, also passed. He received 78.5 points with very consistent scores, including almost all eights.

Show jumping sire Cantos got his first approved son in Dantos HBC (ds. Numero Uno). The stallion canters well and therefore received an 8. He also received an 8 for scope, bringing the grand total to 76.5.

The only stallion who participated in the final presentation, but did not pass was Dominko (Whitaker x Numero Uno). The stallion had a good canter, but should be more convincing in regards to the jumping components.

Four Dressage Stallions Approved

Don Tango (Contango x Jazz) passed with the highest scores. The stallion did not score lower than an 8 and for posture and balance and rideability and attitude the dark bay received a 9. The stallion has a Class C osteochondrosis rating on the right hock, but the stallion committee felt the horse shows sufficient quality to compensate.

The number three of the Stallion Show championship, Dorado (Krack C x Rousseau) lives up to his ancestry. He comes from the mother line of Hans Peter Minderhoud’s mare Exquis Nadine (s. TCN Partout) and with 82.5 points, including 8.5’s for the canter, rideability and attitude and talent as a dressage horse, the stallion was approved.

The Negro son, Diëgo (ds. Don Gregory) received 79.5 points. The black stallion scored 8’s on almost all components and is a complete dressage horse.

Dream Boy (Vivaldi x Ferro) has a fantastic canter, for which he scored an 8.5. For posture and balance, rideability and attitude and talent as a dressage horse the black stallion scored an 8. Dream Boy was approved with 78.5 points.

Royal dance, from the first crop of Wynton, canters well and has good posture and balance. The stallion committee made the decision not to approve this stallion because his scores were not convincing enough to compensate for the veterinary findings.

Two Harness Stallions Approved

Stallion Show Champion Ditisem (Roy M x Manno) was accepted with nice scores. As a foal the dappled chestnut was the national champion. His highest scores were 8.5’s for suspension, use of the hindleg and enthusiasm.

The four-year old Colonist (Vulcano x Patijn) was all-around convincing. There were no low scores. The stallion scored highest for action of the foreleg, a 9, and an 8.5 for front, posture, enthusiasm and overall picture of a harness horse.
