List of selected stallions that have met the veterinary requirements to breed reg. A offspring in 2026.

The KWPN stallion selection process underwent a number of changes last fall. One of these changes is that the spring performance test was cancelled for the three-year-old selected stallions. Offspring of these designated stallions, resulting from their first breeding season, will now be registered in register A, provided that the stallion meets the veterinary requirements (PROK, D-OC, semen, roaring and WFFS). The list of stallions that meet these requirements has been published: 24 selected three-year-old stallions are on the list.
Example 1:
You are breeding your mare this year with a stallion from the list published. These stallions meet the required tests, such as PROK, D-OC, WFFS, roaring and semen quality. Your foal born in 2026 will be included in register A in any case. Does this stallion successfully complete the KWPN performance test in the meantime? Then your foal will be included in the foal book.
Example 2:
You are using a stallion that was selected for the performance test during the KWPN Stallion Show 2025, but it is not known whether the stallion meets the veterinary requirements. This stallion is not on the list published by the KWPN. This stallion must successfully complete the KWPN performance test in the fall of 2025 or in the spring of 2026, otherwise the offspring born in 2026 will be registered in register B.
Approval by WBFSH-recognized studbook:

Is a selected stallion approved by a WBFSH-recognized studbook and does he meet the requirements there? Then his offspring will be in register A. If a stallion does not meet the additional requirements and is not approved by a WBFSH-recognized studbook, the foal will be registered in the register B book.

The stallions’ details had to be submitted to the KWPN before the 1st of April 2025. If the stallions get approved in one of the two subsequent performance tests (autumn 2025 or spring 2026), their foals will be included in the foal book in 2026 and thereafter. Their genetic profile be included in the KWPN Database after final approval, so upon completion of the performance test.
