The battle in the Championship for Gelder stallions was between catalog number 573 (Negro x Elegant, breeders: B. van der Veen and S.E.Brugge) and catalog number 575 (Wynton x Zep, breeder: H.C. Vonk).

Chairman Reijer van Woudenbergh didn’t keep spectators in suspense for long; although both stallions are out of a very good dam-line, the title went to the Wynton son Festival, who showed a good front end and an active trot. The long-lined Negro son Floris Bs, the worthy reserve champion, demonstrated very easy movement.
