Today was the kickoff of the 28th Reem Acra FEI Dressage World Cup Final in Gothenburg. It was a start with some dubious surprises. Defending champions Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival performed below their abilities. However Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover performed optimally. Although they placed second (78.465%), no one would have been surprised if they had won the Grand Prix!

Damon Hill (Erkend, Donnerhall x Romanze by Rubinstein I) and Helen Langehanenberg had the dubious honor of being the first, and the duo performed very convincingly, finishing with 79.863%. With great piaffes and ones Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover (Ferro pref x Mimosavrouwe keur pref prest sport/dr by Donnerhal, breeder M. Hendriksen-de Rijk) showed how they have grown in executing the toughest movements. Two members of the jury placed the pair first, but they finished second with 78.465%.

It was expected that Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival (Jazz pref x Fidora ster pref prest by Ulft keur, breeder J.M. Beijer-de Kleijn) would top everyone, and at the beginning they did with a score of 85%. But during the first piaffe on the A-C line, everything went wrong – Parzival was startled, turned around twice, flew backwards and turned again before Adelinde was able to collect him and finish the test, otherwise flawless, with 75.410% and fourth place.

The Swedish Patrik Kittel and Watermill Scandic H.B.C. (Solos Carex x Noraline elite prest sport/dr by Amiral, breeder H.G. Mosman-Rohe) also did not have a great day. The stallion got a little short in the neck and was too much on the forehand, not wanting to elevate the front and the pair finished 10th with 69.559%. Norwegian Lillan Jebsen finished 12th with Pro-Set ( Jetset-D x Jelesta by Flemmingh pref, breeder A.J. Tas) with 68.146%, Ukrainian Inna Logutenkova and Vian Stallone (Lancet keur x Cera ster by Symfonie, breeder J.J. Keuninx) finished 14th with 66.702%
