75 interesting foals selected for Elite Foal Auction Borculo. Three Interesting Foals In Utero Added to Collection for Borculo Elite Auction

The foal collection for the Borculo Elite Auction is complete; 75 top foals have been selected for the auction on August 29th. Jacques Verkerk, Selection Committee Chairman: “We’ve put together an interesting and varied collection, selected from more than 500 foals. We have the same number of jumper foals and dressage foals, and we’re sure to hear a lot about them in the future in both disciplines. After all, we look for talent. The collection will undoubtedly meet the expectations buyers have of us: the best foals with outstanding pedigrees, lots of relationships to top horses, and several selected at the beginning of the inspection season for the National Foal Inspection. The total picture has to be right, and that’s certainly the case with this collection.”

The selected foals are out of strong lines and have abundant sport and breeding behind them, with almost all the top lines of the Netherlands represented. For example, a number of foals are closely related to approved stallions and leading sport horses. Among the dressage foals, two grading champions will be auctioned. Besides that the collection includes a colt by Zack out of Florencio’s full-sister and a Romanov filly out of a Jazz mare, whose dam is the full-sister to Florencio. There is also a full-sister of the Danish-approved stallion Blue Hors Erlando in the collection and a Florencio out of Sowrie, the full sister of the preferent stallion Negro. One of the two Sezuan sons, is the half-brother of the Swedish-approved stallion Don de Jeu, whose full-sister Eskara de Jeu (s.Jazz) was the National Mare Inspection champion of 2012. Then there is an Uphill foal with strong movement out of United’s full-sister. Litchy, the dam of Painted Black and Zizi Top, has a beautiful filly by Hotline slated for Borculo.

Among the jumper foal collection is the Champion from the foal inspection in Harich: a Harley VDL filly who was praised by the jury. Also slated for auction is the full-brother of the approved stallion Durango and a colt by Casall out of Harley VDL’s dam, the well-known mare Larthago. She also has a Ustinov filly which will be auctioned. In addition, Larthago is the granddam of the selected Codex One colt and the great-granddam of a Caleandro filly. The Indorado colt is bred out of the same mare as Utascha SFN and there is a Nabab de Reve out of the half-sister to the Olympic jumper Vindicat W that add a good dash of sport to the collection.

The jumper collection includes foals by stallions which have proven themselves in the sport, such as Air Jordan Z, Calvaro, Catoki, Kannan, Mr. Blue, Nassau, Numero Uno, Peppermill, Unaniem, and Quality Time. In addition, the collection boasts foals by up-and-coming talents like Zirocco Blue VDL, Zambesi, and the phenomenal E-Star, who is currently the best four-year-old in the Netherlands, with victories in Geesteren and Etten-Leur.

The dressage foals likewise embody a nice mix of potential and performance. The young stallions Bordeaux, Sezuan, Uno Don Diego, Zatchmo, Charmeur, Don Tango B, Dorado, Dreamboy, Everdale, and Zack all have foals in the auction. Furthermore, foals by the Grand Prix stallions Glock’s Romanov, Hofrat, Jazz, Sorento, Totilas, and Wynton will be offered. Also slated for auction is a beautiful filly, who like her sire, World Cup winner Damon Hill, has excellent movement.

For dressage enthusiasts, there is the foal in utero by Jazz whose donor is none other than the Grand Prix mare Sisther de Jeu (s.Gribaldi). Of course, the preferent stallion Jazz (s.Cocktail) needs no further introduction, and he is the showpiece of Van Helvoirt horse breeding.

And for jumper enthusiasts, two very interesting foals in have been added to the auction collection. One is by Quick Star out of a Calvaro Z mare. The granddam of this mare is the full-sister of the stallions Contendro I and II, and the half-sister of Caretano Z. The second jumper foal in utero is out of the full-sister of the living legend Big Star, by the stallion L’Arc de Triomphe Z (Landor S x Pilot). Big Star recently won the Grands Prix of Aachen, London, and Rome. As for L’Arc De Triomphe Z, his oldest offspring are breaking into the Grand Prix, among them Simon Delestre’s mount Qlassic Bois Margot.
