KWPN NewsOkidoki deceasedIn Juanuary of this year 14 year old Dutch bred gelding was sold to José Maria Larocca from Argentina, who is based in Geneva, Switzerland. In June, Okidoki injured a tendon while competing in Cannes. Okidoki seemd to be recovering well after surgery. Following standard procedure, he was on postoperative medication, but last night developed complications. He was immediately placed under veterinary monitoring and was then transported to the Bern Clinic by the veterinary team who never left his side. Despite the best possible veterinary care, Okidoki died due to septic shock in the abdomen. Okidoki, bred by O. Boonstra, was a celebrity in the show jumping community and loved by people all over the world, but most of all by his owner and former owner/rider Albert Zoer, who have been working together since ownership of the horse changed. Okidoki and Zoer scored victories at places such as Bordeaux, Calgary, Londen, Verona, Athene, Lyon, Hardelot and Den Bosch. In 2006 the pair won team gold in Aachen and again in 2007 at the European Championships and Okidoki was named the 2007 KWPN Horse of the Year.
