Gal and Totilas triumph at World Cup Final
Totilas
Edward Gal and the KWPN-Erkend Moorlands Totilas (Gribaldi x Lominka elite prest by.Glendale, breeder J.K. Schuil) overcame the pressure and tension of the Grand Prix to claim the 25th anniversary FEI World Cup™ Dressage title in s'Hertogenbosch. Two days previous Gal's stallion gave an edgy test in the preliminary Grand Prix. This day, however, he was considerably more composed as he strutted his way to victory by a margin of almost seven percentage points. As the mark of 89.80% went up on the board Edward knew he had done more than enough - the 2009/2010 FEI World Cup™ Dressage title was safely in his hands.
Parzival
Adelinde Cornelissen won the preliminary Grand Prix with a great performance from Jerich Parzival (Jazz x Fidora ster pref prest s.Ulft, breeder J.M. Beijer-de Kleijn). The chestnut gelding's easy elevation, natural rhythm and powerful movement was complemented by a creative new routine that particularly highlights his athleticism in pirouette. The pair finished with a dramatic flourish when following a canter pirouette to the right with another to the left and her score of 82.85% put her well out in front.
Scandic HBC
Sweden's Patrik Kittel was the penultimate rider to take his turn with KWPN-approved stallion Watermill Scandic HBC (Solos Carex x Noraline elite prestatie sport-(dres) s.Amiral, breeder H.G. Mosman-Rohe) and, a big hit with the s'Hertogenbosch spectators this week, rode a test they again thoroughly enjoyed although they only put a score of 76.55% on the board.
