KWPN NewsPopeye K Leading Hunter SireThis was the second year in a row that this honor was bestowed on Popeye K, who was approved by the KWPN as a Hunter Type in 2006. Popeye K was bred by Peter Karneef of Ontario, Can, and is owned by Rachel Spencer of Spencer Ranch in Keswick, VA. In 1996, encouraged by support from the American Horse Shows Association (now USEF) and several breed registries including the NA/WPN (now KWPN-NA), the PHR data base was expanded via the recording of those breed organization’s stallions and their foal crops….“Proud of their versatile Thoroughbreds, the founders knew that with careful breeding, exceptional all-around athletes could be produced—athletes that could excel in any equestrian discipline.
